We’re not a choir, we’re a band damn it!
SHORT BIO
We’re not a choir, we’re a band damn it! But we did start as a choir, performing one-offs at various fundraisers around Winnipeg. But then we got a bass player! And two guitars! And a glockenspiel! So yeah, we’re a band, performing predominantly original songs that feature all the things we love: harmony, washboards and dogs.
Members: Liz Quesnel, Melanie Whyte, Dora Carroll, Sarah Constible, Jan Skene, Laura Olafson, Jane Testar, Michelle Boulet, Claire Therese, Alissa Watson
LONG BIO
So if we cast out minds back…way back…Fu Fu Chi Chi started as most bands did..as a bit of an experiment. The brainchild of Sarah and Michelle (the main songwriters) this band of 10 women have been making music together for over a decade.
They have taken their time in arriving at their unique sound, and will be the first to admit that they are on a journey to find their voice. Arranged for predominately three part harmony and backed by an array of instruments their music reflects their deep love of all music.
Recently completing their debut EP ‘crazy, crazy, fancy, fancy’ they are stoked to finally be able to share their most beloved and naughty tunes with their fans who have been clamouring for a recording for….let’s be honest…about five years.
Influences: Be Good Tanyas, Billy Bragg, The Pretenders
