WOW

To quote someone from last night, “I love our community so much”. Thank you to everyone who came out last night on the coldest night ever to share an evening of joy! Thank you to all our performers: Lara Rae, The Lady Lumps, Claire and Darwin, Rajat Bhateja, The Clan Mothers Village Drum Group, and Outside Joke. Thank you Ali and Tim for making the show run so smoothly. If you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, please check out this documentary made by our bassist, Liz, about the Clan Mothers Healing Village. You can donate to this amazing organization by visiting their website or going to Canada Helps. Let’s continue putting light out into the world!

Who Needs The Village People? Meet Claire Thérèse and Darwin Baker, Performing at Noise Complaint II!

Darwin and Claire played music separately, until they started hanging out and playing music together. During the pandemic they introduced each other to their favourite covers, and since then have been sharing them at classic car shows, theatre lobbies, and friend’s porches. And on Monday night, they’ll be bringing some sweet tunes to the West End Cultural Centre for Noise Complaint II!

(PS. Claire is also one of Fufu’s scrappy lows and guitar players)

NOISE COMPLAINT II: THE NEIGHBOURS ARE AT IT AGAIN

January 20, 2017 – Trump was sworn into office. We all felt a little worried about what was to come, but decided to focus that worry into a concert/fundraiser, with the hopes of spreading a little joy into a scary world. Wellllllllllll… time to spread more joy! Please join us on January 20, 2025 as we once again send a message to our neighbours in the south that the oligarchs will not determine how we live. We can choose to love and support one another. They might not listen, but at least we can remind ourselves of that. Music, comedy, and a good cause. All proceeds go to Clan Mothers Healing Village!

You know those cajons that are like, double cajons?

We’ve been in the studio recently recording our first full length album – with two cajon players: Jane (who just finished up a smashing run at PTE with Outside Joke’s Christmas Miracle), and Laura (pictured here on the left next to Stephanie Sy and Rhea Rodych-Rasidescu), who opens Waitress at RMTC this week!

What do you call half a Fu Fu?

Thank you to Earl Palansky for taking our picture at the Rady Social Club! The five of us had a blast – though maybe the necrophilia song was not the best choice for a lunch time concert?

Melanie Whyte, beautiful singer, actor, teacher, and autoharp player, would like to share this message:

Potluck snacking with Fu Fu is always a tasty time. Here’s a fave dip of mine (I got this recipe from my friend Amanda and have made it over and over):

Guacamole Salsa

1 cup frozen corn

1 cup black olives

1 red pepper, Chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup olive oil

3 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp cider vinegar

Dried Oregano

Salt and pepper

Mix liquids before adding them to rest of ingredients.

Let sit 2 hours or so in fridge. Just before serving, add 1 or 2 ripe avocado’s, chopped finely. Serve with tortilla chips.
